Anniversary

So today marks my three year wedding anniversary and since this blog is about me sharing my closet with you I suppose it is only appropriate that I post a picture from my wedding!
My dress was from Collette Dinnigan and shoes from Christian Louboutin....I hope you like!

Personal Charm

I have total apartment envy...this Copenhagen apartment was recently featured in November UK Elle Decoration. I just loved the Foundation Maeght Poster so I called Sam at Vintage Posters Only Armadale and he just happended to have this poster in his collection. It arrived today and is in mint condition. Foundation Maeght is a museum established in 1964 by Marguerite and Aimé Maeght to present modern and contemporary art in all its forms. It is located in Saint-Paul de Vence which is close to Nice. The Maeght Foundation  contains one of the most important collections in Europe, with paintings, sculptures, drawings and graphic works of art from the 20th century (Bonnard, Braque, Calder, Chagall, Chillida, Giacometti, Léger, Miró...) and contemporary artists (Adami, Kelly, Kuroda, Monory, Tàpies).

Now all in need is the chandelier.

It's in the Bag

Great style is in the bag...and the shoe and the ring! Great accessories have nothing to do with a girl's figure, a fabulous handbag looks fabulous on anyone, a stunning necklace looks stunning on anyone, and an amazing shoe looks well amazing on anyone. The bottom line is a girl cannot live on clothes alone and fabulous accessories will complete your look and highlight your personality. I will share with you some of my favorite classic accessories from my wardrobe. If possible, it is worth spending money on accessories, some of the ones below I have had for over 10 years and they tend to last longer than clothes and classic accessories stand the test of time.

My Prada bag. I carry this bag most days and after 2 years I still love it!

The classic and quite possibly my favorite thing in my wardrobe.

A sparkly clutch for the evening.
The classic Christian Louboutin Pigalle 120, these shoes will go with nearly everything from jeans to an evening dress, but if I am honest they are a bit uncomfortable!
My wedding shoes...yes  Christian Louboutin!
Prada ankle boots! They add an ultramodern edge to any outfit!
Classic and ladylike, lustrous pearls add polish and elegance.
I bought this necklace nearly 12 years ago in New York and wear it nearly every day.
Tom Binns necklace, adds fun to an outfit. I usually put it on when I am wearing all black or all white to add some colour. I purchased it from the online store offtherunway.com.au you can also find colourful pieces from this designer on net-a-porter.
My 1925 French Art Deco Cocktail ring I purchased in London 12 years ago when there was nobody around who would buy me diamonds! (Sorry that the pictures a bit blurry.)
Aurelie Bidermann mother of pearl charms on Liberty print bracelet. I love it and wear it most days! Visit aureliebidermann.com or net-a-porter.
The Classic Ray Ban Aviators, will last you for years and suits every face!
My Moschino belt. The first designer piece I bought back in 1993, and did I think I was so cool! Although I admit it sat at the back of my closet for a few years I have more recently been bringing it back out again
Longines Dolce Vita purchased over 10 years ago and I wear it everyday...however I wouldn't mind a Rolex or Cartier Tank.

My J.Crew Skirt Obsession

I love J.Crew and I think it is nothing short of a fashion tragedy that they don't ship to Australia. It is such a tease to browse on their website and see many objects of desire and affection which are unavailable (fingers crossed that this might be happening soon, as they have just started shipping to the UK and Europe). With a bit of effort I have been able to get my hands on their things.
Net-a-porter sells a selection of J.Crew, you can also find a lot of J.Crew on US Ebay. If you are lusting after something on their website the other and pricey option is to use a US forwarding company, these companies will purchase the item on your behalf (and usually charge about 10% commission fee) and then send the item to you. Search google for US postbox and compare costs. It does work out to be pretty expensive but when a girls gotta have something.....
I do love their mini skirts and will share my favorites below.

I love this tweed skirt. I saw it on the J.Crew site and simply HAD to have it. I went through a US post box company which purchased the skirt for me and then posted it. As mentioned you pay a premium for this, lucky it was on sale and the Australian dollar was high at this time!

This is my most recently purchased J.Crew skirt. I found it on US Ebay after seeing it originally for sale on the J.Crew .

I just love the bright orange band on this skirt and it's easy to throw one with a white tank top on a summers day, got it from net-a-porter.

Candy strip skirt, another US Ebay find from about 1 year ago.

J.Crew also does some really great jewellery and I have been able to score a few pieces which I intend to show you in some future posts. Again I recommend going on US Ebay there is usually quite a big selection often at a very reasonable price, you are sure to find something fabulous.

Versace for H&M

In the early 90's I dreamed about wearing Versace. Oh to have been Linda, Christy, Helena or Cindy and to have looked that fabulous! The girly fashions of today have none of the sex appeal that Versace oozed!  On the 19 November Versace releases their range for H&M. Only problem there are no H&M stores in Australia and you cannot buy H&M online here either.  Unfortunately my schedule doesn't allow for me to be in the US or Europe next weekend so the only way for me to get my hands on anything will to pay at least double and go onto US Ebay! For those younger ones who were born in the mid-80's onwards and for the rest of us who can remember, here are some of my favorite images from when the models were truly super and fashion was about hotness.

Here is a selection from the H&M range......I think the leggings and jacket may just be a bit OTT!

Green With Envy

Talk about frock envy! I have always been very excited by sequins, and omg how great does Gwyneth look in this Elie Saab sequined dress, and what about the necklace! Gwyneth wore this last week to the Bambi awards in Germany.

The Bambi is Germany's answer to the Logies only the likes of Gwyneth will attend the Bambi awards.... The very unfortunate thing was that she presented Justin Bieber with the Entertainment Award, what the ??%$ who seriously finds this guy entertaining apart from girls under the age of 16. I cannot wait to read in a few years time about his stints in rehab.
